I am writing on behalf of all of us here at Caring Together to thank you and your fellow members in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire for the very generous donation of £10,200 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation to support young carers to return to education in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As you well know the coronavirus crisis is having a devastating impact on young carers, their education and subsequent life chances. With your support we have been able to provide a timely response to young carers’ individual needs through the creation of a back to education bursary. We are already starting to receive some great feedback from young people and their parents:
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for forwarding the bursary information for Caring Together. We applied for a bursary for Max to buy a new laptop and were successful. He has been muddling through on Glenn’s broken PC and a 10-year-old gifted laptop (which runs on dinosaur poop!). Basically the moment there is a whiff of Covid at school I can pull him out, knowing that he can still be learning. So thank you.”
Let me take this opportunity to say thank you once again, your support is so appreciated at such a challenging time for so many people.
