Cambridgeshire Freemasons help fund Research into Dementia

dementia cheque presentaion

Following a successful Bingo afternoon Cambridgeshire Meridian Masonic Lodge, supported by Cambridgeshire Freemasons and match funding from the City & University of Cambridge Masonic Charitable Trust were able to present a cheque for £3000 to their guest of honour, Professor Rowe from the Cambridge Centre for Frontotemporal Dementia and Related Disorders.

Mike Smith, a member of Cambridgeshire Meridian Lodge, has been raising funds for the centre in memory of his late wife Rosemary, who attended Professor Rowe’s centre.

Receiving the cheque, Professor Rowe commented: “I’m optimistic about the current fight against the disease - donations of this amount are the springboard required by research projects in providing the initial funding before seeking the large donations to fund the projects in the longer term”.
