The Cambridgeshire Masonic Shooting Society joined a very good turn-out of Freemasons from Essex, Suffolk, Northants & Hunts, Lincolnshire and Kent to enjoy a 50-Bird English Sporting layout at Eriswell Lodge Shooting Ground this month.

The format was at times challenging, but as always good fun. This time though, there was a slight twist! To add interest our hosts from Suffolk had decided to introduce a couple of ‘new’ disciplines in the form of 25 Skeet and 25 Compak Sporting. Few of us had shot Skeet before, but even less Compak, so it was a much discussed variation.

Following the competition we were treated to a talk by representatives of Suffolk Accident Rescue Service who imparted some interesting if not sobering knowledge, some quick life saving tips and a resuscitation demonstration, further reinforcing the message that everyone should have at least a basic idea of First Aid as it does save lives.
