On Wednesday 20th May, over 25 members of the Cambridge Light Blues Club and The Clarets came together as one organisation for their first annual spring social at the Cambridge Beer Festival.

The evening brought together Brethren from across the Province, with representation from Kynaston, Nourse, Cantabridgia, Scientific, Thirkill and many others, including visitors from outside the Province. It was particularly encouraging to see such a broad and vibrant mix of Freemasonry in attendance: long standing Brethren with decades of experience sat alongside brand new members, prospective candidates awaiting Initiation, wives, partners, friends, and those simply interested in learning more about our wonderful fraternity.

At its heart, the evening was a true expression of Brotherly Love. Good beer, good laughter and good company created the perfect setting for Brethren to meet beyond the Lodge room, strengthen existing bonds, and form new ones. It was a reminder that Freemasonry is not only about the work we do in Lodge, but also about the friendships we build, the families we welcome, and the journey we share together.

There was a real sense of enthusiasm throughout the evening, with many conversations turning to future Lodge visits, social events, and the exciting opportunities ahead for the next generation of Freemasonry in Cambridgeshire. Bringing together newer members, experienced Brethren, families and friends in such a relaxed and welcoming environment felt like a meaningful step forward in building an active, visible and united Masonic community.
This social was a fantastic way to begin the summer and an excellent opportunity to welcome newer members into the wider family of Freemasonry. It showed what can be achieved when we come together with a shared purpose: one journey, one organisation, united in fellowship.
A sincere thank you to all who attended and helped make the evening such a success. We strongly encourage Brethren, partners, families and friends to join us at future events as we continue to build momentum, strengthen our bonds, and create more opportunities for fellowship across the Province.
What a wonderful start to the summer, and what an exciting future lies ahead for the Cambridge Light Blues Club, The Clarets, and Freemasonry in Cambridgeshire!
