The Gild of Holy Trinity Lodge No. 6125 brought festive cheer to Wisbech this Christmas by supporting local charity Feed Fenland, which provides hot meals and essential supplies to those in need.

After serving nearly one hundred people with hot food and drinks, WM. W.Bro. DavidPritchard and Charity Steward W.Bro. Shaun Button presented a cheque for £600 to Feed Fenland volunteers. The donation was further enhanced by match funding from the City and University of Cambridge Masonic Charitable Trust, ensuring even greater impact for the charity’s work.

Feed Fenland, based at Olive Academy on Coalwharf Road, has been operating for just over three years. With a network of almost 100 volunteers, the charity was founded to combat food insecurity across Fenland and surrounding areas.

Their mission is to provide hearty meals and warm drinks to anyone in need, with no questions asked. Every visitor is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. In addition to food, Feed Fenland also supplies clothing and sanitary products, ensuring vulnerable members of the community receive practical support alongside kindness.

The cheque presentation took place in the presence of several volunteers. George Broughton, one of Feed Fenland’s trustees, received the donation on behalf of the charity.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Broughton expressed his gratitude: “This generous support from the Freemasons will help us continue our mission of providing food and care to those who need it most. We are deeply thankful for their kindness and commitment to our community.”

W.Bro. Pritchard added: “Charity is at the heart of Freemasonry, and we are proud to support Feed Fenland in their vital work. It is inspiring to see so many volunteers giving their time to help others, especially at Christmas.”

The donation reflects the Freemasons’ long-standing tradition of supporting local causes and fostering community spirit. By partnering with Feed Fenland, the Lodge has helped ensure that those facing hardship can enjoy warmth, nourishment, and dignity during the festive season.
