The Cambridge Royal Albert Homes has been given a cheque for £1,000 from the Cambridgeshire Freemasons, through a grant from the Province of Cambridgeshire Masonic Charity for Care and Relief.
The Royal Albert Homes were originally formed in 1846 and provide subsidised housing for independent people of retirement age.
Gill Amps, Warden of the Cambridge Royal Albert Homes said,” On behalf of the Albert Homes residents I wish to thank David and the Freemasons for the extremely generous cheque to be used to improve disabled access to the Homes”.
David Cameron, Trustee of Care and Relief said, “We are very happy to be able to support the Royal Albert Homes and help provide a safer environment for its residents”. He added, “I have often driven past the homes and admired their Victorian architecture and am delighted for the opportunity to visit and find out more about these beautiful homes”.
Eva Shaw, a resident of the Royal Albert Homes said “How kind of them to donate such a generous cheque. I was amazed. “
Everyone at the homes wishes to thank the Cambridgeshire Freemasons for their kind generosity.
