Epicurean Lodge No. 10058 consecration becomes Cambridgeshire’s 34th Lodge

Cambridgeshire Freemasonry welcomed its 34th lodge with the consecration of Epicurean Lodge No. 10058, a celebration of fine dining and friendship.

Held at the Newmarket Masonic Club, the ceremony was led with distinction by the ProvGM RW. Bro. William Charles Mason Dastur, who proudly noted the lodge’s place in the Province’s growing masonic tapestry. This consecration marked a poignant milestone, the ProvGMs. final consecration as ProvGM, making the occasion all the more memorable.

The Consecrating Team delivered a superb display, setting the tone for what promises to be a vibrant and unique lodge. The DepProvGM VW. Bro. David McKay Blair then took the reins as Installing Officer, guiding the new lodge into its next chapter and installing W. Bro. Mark Shields as the Primus Master. The Address to the Master was expertly delivered by the AsstProvGM W. Bro. Jonathan Lambert, adding a special touch to the day and marking the occasion where all Cambridgeshire Rulers, Craft and Royal Arch, took part in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, members and guests gathered at the Newmarket Jockey Club for a truly delectable meal. The exquisite cuisine and impeccable service perfectly embodied the lodge’s motto: Comedite, Bibite, GaudeteEat, Drink, Rejoice.

With over 30 founding members, and ten more Masons eagerly awaiting to join, Epicurean Lodge is already flourishing. The lodge meets four times a year at various locations both within and beyond the Province, embracing a spirit of exploration and conviviality. The next meeting will be held at Bateman Street, followed by dining at the historic Peterhouse College, an experience not to be missed.
