Cambridgeshire Freemasons have made a heart warming donation of a large quantity of teddies to Home-Start, a Cambridgeshire based charity dedicated to supporting families in need. The teddies will be used to comfort children and families who are facing difficult times, helping to provide a sense of reassurance and security during challenging moments.
Home-Start Cambridgeshire, a volunteer driven organisation, offers personalised support to families across the county, focusing on building strong relationships and empowering parents. Volunteers share their time, and expertise, working alongside parents to help them build on their strengths and explore new ideas to grow in confidence. Through this approach, families often become more engaged in their communities, benefiting both themselves and their children.
Hayley Norfolk, Chief Executive of Home-Start Cambridgeshire, expressed her gratitude for the donation, stating:
The teddies will be an invaluable asset when supporting families. We are so grateful for the generosity of the Cambridgeshire Freemasons, whose support will make a real difference to the children we serve.
The donation of teddies was coordinated by Cambridgeshire Freemason Tony Barrios, who explained,
The teddies are primarily donated to Paediatric Departments within hospitals, but fundraising by fellow Masons has allowed the organisation to extend the donations to other charities like Home-Start. We are proud to contribute to the incredible work that Home-Start Cambridgeshire is doing in the community.
The partnership between the Cambridgeshire Freemasons and Home-Start Cambridgeshire highlights the positive impact that community collaborations can have on local families. The Freemasons’ donation will not only bring comfort to children but will also support Home-Start’s ongoing efforts to provide sensitive and flexible assistance to families throughout the region.
Home-Start Cambridgeshire is a charity dedicated to providing support to families with young children in the county.
