Cambridgeshire Freemasons were on hand to present a donation of £12,625.87 to the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), following the success of their annual Festival of Carols at Ely Cathedral in December last year. The generous contribution will support the charity’s vital, life-saving work across the region.
Members of the Cambridgeshire Freemasons gathered at the EAAA base in Cambridge for the official cheque presentation. Attending the event was Assistant Provincial Grand Master of Cambridgeshire, Jonathan Lambert, alongside fellow Freemasons from the province.

Jonathan Lambert commended on the efforts of all involved in making the Festival of Carols a memorable and impactful occasion, stating:
We are proud that charitable giving and community engagement are at the heart of Freemasonry. This generous donation exemplifies our commitment to making a difference. We are incredibly grateful to the East Anglian Air Ambulance for welcoming us to their base and providing valuable insight into the life-saving work they do every day.
Following the presentation, attendees were given a guided tour of the Air Ambulance base, where they explored response vehicles and had the opportunity to get up close to the air ambulance itself. They also met with crew members and medical staff, gaining first-hand insight into the charity’s emergency operations.
We are truly touched that you chose to support us alongside Ely Cathedral for this very special event. It is support just like this that enables us to deliver and develop our vital services – 24/7 by air and by road from our two bases in Cambridge and Norwich, treating on average six people a day in often the most traumatic moments of their lives. We simply couldn’t do this without you.
— Tammy Swiderski, EAAA’s Community Fundraising Lead for Bedfordshire & Cambridgeshire
The East Anglian Air Ambulance relies on charitable donations to fund its 24/7 emergency medical services, responding rapidly to critical incidents by both air and road. The generosity of the Cambridgeshire Freemasons will help ensure that this essential service continues to save lives across the region.
