What a fantastic day we had at the Light Blues BBQ. Despite the weather doing its very best to remind us what a true British BBQ looks like, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits!
We had a great turnout of Brethren, together with their families, friends and four legged companions, who came along to enjoy an afternoon of friendship, fun and fundraising. With live music, games and bouncy castles for the children, there was something for everyone, and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together and enjoying the occasion.
Most importantly, the day raised a fantastic total of £2,000, which will be shared between our two chosen charities, Teddies for Loving Care and the RNLI.
Both charities have received tremendous support from Freemasonry and were particularly close to our recently departed Brother, Cameron McKechnie. It was therefore especially meaningful to have members of Cameron’s family with us on the day, who joined in and helped raise additional funds for the two charities.
We were also delighted to welcome the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Ed Williams, and would like to thank him for joining us and for his support on what was a very enjoyable and successful day.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended, supported, donated and helped organise the day. The generosity and fellowship shown throughout the event were a fitting demonstration of what Freemasonry and the Light Blues are all about, bringing Brethren, families and friends together while supporting worthy causes within our communities.
A truly enjoyable and memorable day, and a wonderful result for two very deserving charities.
