A Historic First in a New Home

On Wednesday 1st October 2025, Lodge members gathered for a truly memorable occasion: the Installation of Bro. David Pritchard into the Chair of King Solomon. The evening was made all the more special by the presence of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, V.W.Bro. David Blair.

This marked the first meeting held in the newly opened Wisbech Masonic Centre, formerly a Crown and Magistrates Court, now beautifully transformed into a purpose-built venue for both meetings and dining. Thanks to the tireless efforts of members from Lodge 809 and Lodge 6125, the building now offers a seamless experience for Brethren, with the Temple occupying the old Crown Court. The acoustics, as noted by many, were exceptional.

The meeting was honoured by the presence of Grand Officers, Provincial Grand Officers, and several Worshipful Masters from other Lodges. With over 86 Brethren in attendance, the Festive Board was a vibrant celebration.

Guests were welcomed into the bar area before the ceremony, offering a relaxed space to reconnect and enjoy refreshments.

The Installation ceremony was executed with excellence. Outgoing Worshipful Master W.Bro. Shaun Button delivered a flawless performance in installing W.Bro. David Pritchard.

A special moment in the evening was the recognition of W.Bro. Henry Philpot LGR, who was honoured for 50 years of dedicated service to Freemasonry. V.W.Bro. David Blair presented a commemorative tribute to mark this milestone.

Additionally, Marie Humphrey, wife of W.Bro. Michael Humphrey, presented a generous donation of £250.00, part of a £500.00 fundraising effort, to be shared between the Maggies Appeal and Addenbrookes Hospital.
