Thirkill Lodge No 7333

The Masonic Hall, Bateman St, Cambridge

Thirkill is a well established Lodge, having been founded in 1954. We had a brilliant celebration of our 50th anniversary in 2004 with about 100 members and their guests attending this special and happy occasion.

We are a medium sized Lodge of about 50 members who come from all walks of life; being a member of Thirkill enables every member to meet and make friends from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our members’ ages extend from their late twenties fairly evenly through to those well into retirement.
We meet for a regular Lodge meeting in Bateman Street, Cambridge seven times a year on the third Monday of the month from October to May, missing out December; we usually start at 6.00pm after gathering in the bar. Additionally we have our Lodge of Instruction (LoI) which has informal regular monthly meetings which are held to learn and practise the rituals used in the three degrees of Freemasonry; they are great fun and a good way of getting to know your brothers in the Lodge.
After a Lodge or Lodge of Instruction meeting we have supper. Members are very welcome to bring friends from other Lodges to our meetings and suppers.
We are a very happy Lodge and we ensure that everyone who joins the Lodge has the opportunity to enjoy himself whilst at the same time taking part in the more formal Masonic activities. We welcome new members whom we encourage and help to make as much progress in freemasonry as they want. A lifetime of pleasure awaits!
