The Lodge was consecrated in 1939 and bears the name and Coat of Arms of the then Provincial Grand Master Sir Kynaston Studd. He officiated at the consecration ceremony in which the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Sir Henry Thirkill, was invested as Master. Unusually the Lodge has three Mother Lodges, namely, Scientific Lodge No. 88 Lodge of Three Grand Principles No. 441 and Cantabrigia Lodge No. 3532. The Senior Past Masters of these three Town Lodges successfully petitioned for a fourth Lodge to accommodate the increasing interest in membership and progression within the Lodge.
The Lodge has a membership of sixty one.
The Lodge meets seven times per year on the 4th Thursday in January to April and September/October and the 1st Thursday in December. The Lodge has an excellent Lodge of Instruction, meeting once or twice a month. Junior members are also invited to attend the monthly Officers rehearsal, if they are qualified to attend. Every April the Lodge of Instruction undertakes a formal lodge ceremony, which involves more junior members experiencing lodge offices.
The Lodge has high standards set to achieve outstanding fulfilling ceremonies for the benefit of its members and visiting brethren, emulating the standards and friendly welcoming atmosphere set by its founders.
Additionally to supporting Festivals and Provincial projects, the Lodge supports a Cambridge University Cancer research programme and three local youth organisations, also when in Festival, every other year, a Norfolk Demonstration Teams Charity, they supporting Kynaston Lodge when we are in Festival.
