Freemasons’ Hall, Bateman Street, Cambridge CB2 1NA
The Lodge was formed in Cambridge in 1974 as the size of some of the existing Lodges had become unmanageable. As a fairly new Lodge with no ties to any particular establishment or tradition we draw our membership from all professions and trades & from the surrounding towns as well as Cambridge itself.
60. Over 20% have joined within the last 5 years & 15% are under 40.
Second Thursday of October to March inclusive.
We strive to present a high standard of ritual while tempering this with having fun at our
meals afterwards. Whilst we feel it is important to maintain old traditions we do like to
introduce new elements to give a ‘wow’ factor to our meetings. We like to think that we are
welcoming & inclusive and make sure our new members are well mentored & supported.
Evidence of this is that we have one of the highest Cambridgeshire rates of visitors
attending our meetings – with over 30, on average, at each meeting.
Socially we are active involving family and friends in our events encouraging them to feel
part of the Lodge.
We are committed supporters to charitable causes – mainly on a local but also a national
level recognising that we are an integral part of the local community.
We welcome those of all faiths, occupations & ages who meet the criteria for membership.
We consider membership as a long term life choice & wish our new members to be happy
with their choice as well as the existing membership being happy with them. To this end we
will provide opportunities for prospective members to meet with a wide cross-section of the
membership before the formal process of joining.
